We are looking forward to our trip this Thursday.  We have a busy day planned with most of the activities outdoors.  They include a 45 minute bush walk, a bug and plant study, and a lesson at the visitor centre to learn about the fence, traps and displays.

Please ensure your child comes to school with:
-A big packed lunch, we will have morning tea there as well
-Drink bottle
-Suitable footwear for a bush walk
-Warm clothing
-A warm jacket
-Sunblock
-Sun hat and a beanie

Parent helpers please meet us at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary visitor Centre at 10:00.
In the event of poor weather there will be a notice posted in the morning on the NCS website under classroom notices -  (http://www.nelsoncentral.school.nz/notices).  Please check this if you have offered to come as a parent helper.

Kind regards

FINN'S FRIEND

On Friday Finn brought in his pet skink to show the class. It was very shy and kept hiding under logs and stones!
It was interesting to watch the skink and find out all about it's habitat and what it likes to eat.

MEET THE TEACHER

REMINDER:
Pohutukawa Meet the Teacher evening is Wednesday 18th February at 7pm.

SELF PORTRAITS

In Art we have been learning to create a self-portrait. We learnt about the dimensions of drawing a face. Then we drew our portrait.

We used pastels, dye and paint to complete our masterpieces.
